Container Rental Agreement

(SURELOCK STORAGE SOLUTIONS )

Container Rental Agreement (“Agreement”)

This Container Rental Agreement (“Agreement”) is made between:

The Owner:
SURELOCK STORAGE SOLUTIONS LTD

and

The Hirer:
(Purchaser of the product)


1. Container Rental

1.1 The Owner agrees to rent to the Hirer a storage container (“the Container”) located at or delivered to a site agreed in Bolton or surrounding areas.

1.2 The Container is provided for storage purposes only. No habitation, hazardous materials, illegal goods, or perishable items are permitted.


2. Rental Term

2.1 Rental begins on the date the Container is delivered or made available to the Hirer.

2.2 The Agreement runs on a rolling rental basis, charged monthly in advance, unless otherwise agreed in writing.


3. Payments

3.1 All rental charges must be paid in advance.

3.2 Payment is due on or before the agreed payment date each month (7th of each month unless a plan is agreed).

3.3 Failure to make payment by the due date constitutes a breach of this Agreement.


4. Late & Missed Payments (IMPORTANT)

4.1 If payment is not received by the due date, the Owner reserves the right to:

  • Immediately suspend access to the Container
  • Charge interest at 4% above Bank of England base rate, calculated daily

4.2 If payment remains outstanding for 14 days or more, the Owner may:

  • Deny all access to the Container
  • Secure the Container with additional locks
  • Treat the contents as abandoned goods (see Clause 6)

4.3 The Hirer has no right to withhold payment for any reason whatsoever.


5. Owner’s Right to Terminate

5.1 The Owner may terminate this Agreement without notice if:

  • Payment is overdue by more than 14 days
  • The Container is used for prohibited purposes
  • The Hirer breaches any part of this Agreement

5.2 Termination does not remove the Hirer’s obligation to pay all outstanding charges.


6. Abandoned Goods & Right of Sale

6.1 If rent remains unpaid for 28 days or more, the Owner may treat the contents of the Container as abandoned.

6.2 The Owner has the irrevocable right to:

  • Remove the contents
  • Sell, dispose of, or destroy the goods
  • Retain all proceeds to cover outstanding rent, fees, removal, storage and sale costs

6.3 Any shortfall remains recoverable from the Hirer.

6.4 Any surplus (if applicable) will be held for 30 days only, after which it becomes the property of the Owner.


7. No Liability for Contents

7.1 The Owner accepts no responsibility whatsoever for loss, theft, damage, moisture, fire, or deterioration of goods stored.

7.2 Storage is entirely at the Hirer’s own risk.

7.3 The Hirer is responsible for arranging their own insurance.
The Hirer would not be held responsible.

7 A. Condensation Disclaimer

Anti-condensation lining is designed to reduce roof condensation and ceiling drips. However, changes in temperature, humidity, ventilation, and storage conditions may still cause condensation, damp, mould, or moisture damage within the container.

Regular ventilation, airflow, and the use of suitable dehumidifier bags or moisture absorbers may help reduce these risks. We accept no liability for damage to stored goods resulting from these conditions after the container has been supplied.


8. Access

8.1 Access may be restricted at any time for:

  • Non-payment
  • Safety, maintenance or site reasons

8.2 Access is a privilege, not a guaranteed right.

8.3 All gates must be closed in and out of the yards & access fobs will be charged if lost.


9. Prohibited Items

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Illegal or stolen goods
  • Hazardous, flammable or explosive materials
  • Living beings
  • Food or perishable items
  • Waste or chemicals

Breach allows immediate termination without refund.


10. Condition & Damage

10.1 The Container must be returned empty, clean and undamaged.

10.2 The Hirer is liable for all damage, including lock damage or misuse.


11. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by English & Welsh Law.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.


12. Acceptance

By hiring the container or making payment, the Hirer confirms they have read, understood and agreed to all terms.
